Xmas/New Year Break

It’s been a while since you heard form me (sorry about that) but I’ve been mega busy with a number of projects trying to get my performance back up to the good old days. I’ve been trying out new verticals along with new traffic sources but more on that on a later post.

Anyway onto the point of the post, I’ve booked a short-ish :P break for the xmas/new year period. I’m off to the Domincan Republic for 3 weeks. I’ve never been there but heard great things about it so I’m really looking forward to that.

Being 100% honest here I’ve been going through a rough patch in regards to working, my main campaign seems to be on a downward spiral and everything I try to revive it doesn’t seem to work. Thats knocked my confidence which has effected on all of my performance which further put me on a downer.

That’s the main reason I haven’t been posting much lately but I was hoping that the holiday would get give me a kick up the ass so to speak and so far it’s working which is a good thing.

  1. When you hit that rough patch, which we all inevitably do, sometimes many times, it can be tough.

You are on the right track, take a break, then come back and hit it hard. All it takes is one right move to your confidence back up!

  2. Hey Richard, I was there in March through May. Then all it took was one successful campaign and I got my groove back.

Try learning a new technique. Find a new forum or if all else fails, do some pre pop…

  3. @ Kiley – Yeah I hope so, I did take a few days off and it helped me evaluate some things and ideas to get going. Although my performance has dropped significantly I’m trying to not just rush things to make this months stats looks better which often leaves me with a crappy campaign anyway.

@ AffPortal – Congrats on the campaign, I’m trying out new traffic sources such as FaceBook too which to try and give me something new to work on.

I was actually laid in bed last night and had a decent idea I want to try out in the next few weeks too which looks promising.

    Hey Richard,

sorry to hear about the slow down. I’m sure any good marketer has experienced it. You have to take this experience now and grow upon it.

Have you ever done any SEO at all? SEO is awesome for that stable, steady, more long-term traffic, that you can use to pay the bills if PPC falls off the boat for some reason.

  6. @ Ari – I’ve got that paused at the moment because it wasn’t doing much and I had other things needing my attention.

@ TipJar – I haven’t done any SEO as of yet, I’m too impatient to wait for the results :) However I am working on things that may be on the SEO long term side of things.
