To Buy or Not To Buy

In my earlier post I mentioned briefly that I was working on a couple of media buys, I finally got those up and running today so I’m anxious and excited to see the results of those. I lined 2 up for now which cost me a total of $3,300.
I didn’t go through a media network for those either, I contacted the sites directly and have been emailing them for the last few days.
I will keep you updated on how they go.
EDIT:
Although it’s only been a few hours one has began giving impressions/clicks and even got a lead
fingers crossed this is the start of something good.

Good luck Richard, I’m looking forward to hearing how this works out for you as I’ve been wanting to try Media Buys, but haven’t gotten my feet wet yet.
How do you go about negotiating the deals? Do you lead in with an offer to the site owners, or do you ask them for their price first and go from there?

i think this is actually my first time of commenting on your blog but i have been reading through for the past 1 month now which motivated me to start working full time in AM. Good job man, will be looking at the updates for the media buys progress.

@ Carlito Brown – At the moment I contacted the sites directly and asked about their advertising costs, things went from there.

@ Justin – At the moment I was using p202 still, I know this isn’t a good idea but being the smaller buys I figured I would test the waters without an expense.
I also have no idea when it comes to ad servers, is there one called zedo which is supposed to be the cheapest option and decent enough for beginners?
