POF Update: Don’t Be In a Rush for Results
-
Last night I launched pretty much my first campaign on plenty of fish, I love how simple it is to get running using Mr Green’s ad uploader and the fact once approved (which took 1.5-2hours) I was instantly getting traffic.
First impressions were good, the CTRs appeared to be holding up making the clicks pretty cheap. Out of the 30 ads for each campaign I created I would say 3-5 of them were practically holding the rest of them up so my next move would have been to pause all ads that didn’t get any clicks or had a low CTR.
However, looking over my conversions I was surprised I’d not even had a single conversion but assumed it were the dud ads killing my spend. Until I realised I had missed out the main factor of the campaign – I probably had more chance of flogging teeth whitening targeting old people’s homes on facebook than this campaign working out profitable.
Anyways I have paused the campaigns and resubmitted new ones with the right targeting – another reason to thank Lorenzo and his uploader
By the way the spend for the previous campaign was a little over $90 so not a huge hit, just glad I didn’t fall asleep and let it drain the complete remaining budget.
NOTE: I submitted the campaigns again just before I began writing this post and already they are live and getting impressions. Update to come.

Doh! Easy mistake mate. Been there too. Good to see you posting again after a bit of a break.
Did you get rid of the black pimp-rover by the way?

Hey Nick, Yeah I did – I have moved place so I thought it would have been a wiser choice to get a more economical car and have a nice chunk towards it seen as I don’t hardly drive working from home. I now have a BMW 320d.

You don’t have to resubmit new campaigns. You can just change targeting on the old ones, and they don’t have to be approved again.

I wasn’t 100% about that if the previous performance would affect the campaign or not so I made a new one to cover my back – it was approved within 10 minutes anyway.

Excuse me… I was on your email list, and it has been so long since I heard from you I didn’t know who you were until THREE emails from you arrived.
So I unsubscribed with you from aweber.
Then, about 10 minutes later TWO MORE emails from you arrived.
You need to stop this … now.
I unsubscribed, so we’ll see what happens.
Thanks… Ken

Hey,
I don’t know why 5 emails have been sent out, usually they just send out new post updates. I apologise for that hopefully it won’t do it again
