Having No Campaigns Running Sucks
-
I didn’t realize how much I would miss affiliate marketing having zero campaigns running, the initial buzz of checking your stats each morning to see how they’ve performed is great, it does bring the laborious job of tuning and tweaking a campaign but it’s all for a good cause. One thing is for sure, affiliate marketing isn’t easy money – you have to be prepared to put the effort in and the more you work upfront, the better the reward will be financially.
Each day that you don’t have any campaigns running you are potentially wasting money, even if they are running at a loss. The early stages of a campaign is to allow you to gather information about that niche, for example if I was to spend $100 a day to make $50 I’m going to be making a loss of $50 each day. That doesn’t mean that you have to delete it and move onto your next attempt (yet anyway). That $100 a day worth of data is vital to improve your campaign that’s running, you will be able to judge what keywords are bringing in your conversions and which ones are just simply not converting.
After you have sufficient data and performed correct tweaking you should be able to flip that campaign from making a loss to making a profit. For example if you were to delete keywords which are not converting and increase the bids on the ones that are you would be spending less and making more – in theory
.After a few days I just had to turn at least one campaign back on to see what happens, I turned it on late last night (UK time) just to see, luckily it spent about $10 to make $30 back so perhaps it was just a bad time with all the financial stuff going on in the US. I guess time will tell.
Seeing as I spend the majority of my time working on the computer I decided to spend a bit of money hoping to improve my productivity. After speaking to a few of my friends I decided to purchase an additional monitors and have dual screens running off my laptop – for anyone who hasn’t, do it! It instantly doubles your workspace and allows me to have a clutter free desk which also makes it easier to work in my opinion. I’ve never had a 22inch monitor before and didn’t realise how big they actually are – I’ll try get a few pictures up of my workspace or something in the future, I’m in the process of rearranging it as I’ve also painted the room and bought a new desk.
