Direct Linking: Update
-
Yesterday I told you all I was throwing my first direct linking campaign up to see if I could make it successful, I was basically promoting a zip submit because I’ve spoke to a load of people that have had massive success with them. In the past I have always seemed to ignore them thinking that the $1-$1.50 payout was not worth it so it was keen to see the results.
Anyway, I woke up today and checked the campaign to see how it did, 0 impressions! This was because none of my ads got accepted so I need to look into that further, hopefully when I identify the problem I will be able to get it up and running.
Just thought I’d let you all know what happened, when I manage to get the ads accepted I will post what changes I made.

Hi Richard..
Your problem is that your Maximum cost per click bid was too low.. Google states that they will only allow the highest bidding person to allow their affiliate link to show on the Google Adwords network. So direct linking is tough, unless your willing to shell out the dough
See: http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=14844 for the complete explanation.

Well I never managed to get my ads approved so it never went live, I haven’t had the time to take a closer look as of yet.
I will be revisiting it in the future to see if I can get them approved.
I have a bad tendancy to get loads of projects started but never finish them lol.
