Day 8 – 19th August 2008
-
The first day of the 2nd week was phenomenal compared to the first day of launch so I guess that means I’m going in the right direction. If you looked at my first case study post you will have seen that I made a massive $3.16 profit for the day. A week later I have made 10 times more in profit, here are the results from yesterday:
Impressions: 20,374
Clicks: 202
CTR: 0.99%
Avg CPC: $0.39
Cost: $78.96
Revenue: $112
Profit: $33.04
ROI: 41.84%As you can see, the ROI was down compared to previous days but I’m still getting a nice amount of profit, especially from my first campaign and I have a number of ways that I can increase this in the near future. I’ve practically hit my target of 1% CTR on a whole so I can’t wait for today’s results to see if I can break the 0.XX CTR for the first time.
Plan of action
The tuning has now gone down to a minimum as I have reduced my keywords to around 300 in 27 ad groups, this in turn should bring up my quality score as the ads are more targeted and relevant to the keywords. I have been reading an experiment by Jonathan Volk to obtain a perfect quality score throughout the campaign, I recommend you read both Part 1 and Part 2 to see how easy he found it – let’s hope mine goes the same way.
With the keywords pretty much sorted I will be looking at my ads to try and get the best CTR along with a 5 bar quality score throughout the campaign.
I am also going to asses my landing page to try and increase the CTR, at the moment it’s currently converting just over 40% of visitors to the offer page. Increasing this will in turn increase the amount of revenue and profit I make.
In an attempt to increase the sales of this campaign I will be getting a Microsoft adCenter coupon and uploading the campaign to that to see how that performs.
