A New Turning Point – Hopefully

I’m not going to lie, I’ll put my hand up and admit the fact that my internet marketing efforts have slowed down the past few months. After the success and fall of various campaigns I wanted to try and build a long term business so I’m not always chasing the ‘new craze’.

I took a few months off to work on something which I believe has big potential once it gets up and running, that being said it’s now in the beta stages so hopefully it will begin to pick up once I can iron out all of the bugs/problems with it – maybe more to come on that in the future.

Anyway a few months away from affiliate marketing had a bigger impact than I thought, I jumped back in where I pretty much started and realised things have changed. I pretty much let everything slip – hardly blogging, starting campaigns then getting distracted with something else and things in my personal life were all over.

I have sticky notes all over my monitors with half assed campaign ideas, papers all over with campaign specific details and how to go about them but I haven’t got anywhere in the last few weeks bar get inundated with everything I want to get going but never actually finish.

Everything that’s been happening has played a part in my work ethic going down the drain, not working on as many campaigns forced me to not have anything to write about on my blog which in turn just led me round in circles and having writers block.

I want to give a shout out to Allister over at elite clicks media who bugs me to get blogging again and putting up with me moaning from time to time – big props to him :)

PS: I have a couple of posts lined up I want to get up but if anyone has any specific topics or questions they would like me to talk about feel free to comment and I’ll try my best.

  1. Hey Richard – It is definitely easy to get distracted by everything you are trying to accomplish and lose track of day-to-day projects like blogging. Glad to hear you are jumping back in to affiliate marketing and your blog. Looking forward to your new posts.

How about.. motivation!! Seems fitting. I would love to hear what you do to keep yourself focused.. Espacially maybe what kept you driven when you started out. I work for myself and procrastinate all too often!! I know if i was on big money it would be easier but i am just starting out so…

Yeah definately, motivation is one of the hardest things I’ve had to face – regardless on success it seems to work both ways. I’ll try get a post up along those lines shortly.
